I honestly feel like I'm a changed person, like since I started my internship, I've been becoming, well I like to think I am, more and more mature and I do see the world in a totally different light.
The first thing to change, of course, even way before my "internship enlightening" commenced, was my change in diet. I never realised it before but now that I think about it, it was kind of the first step of the "big transformation", making me who I am today. I decided to be a vegetarian somewhere in May 2015 and honestly that diet made me feel a whole lot better about myself, both mentally and physically. I felt good about things and I also felt extra special because here I am taking an extra step in, in a way, "saving" these animals that are NOT meant to be eaten. Who are we to be like "oh yes we're superior beings so we shall eat cows and chickens and pigs BECAUSE WE CAN." They are put into this world for a reason, able to reproduce for a reason, and I am 100% sure it's not so humans can exploit and consume their meat and rob them of their freedom, making their lives hell until the day they die. Chickens are debeaked, pigs get beaten for fun, foxes get stripped of their furs WHILE they are alive, cows being hanged upside down and getting their throats slit to save costs because it costs "too much" to kill them in a more painless way. Really, if you look at all these examples, humans are just fucking shit. like just, literal piles of shit that probably would have made this a better world had they not been born. And yes, hello I am a human who hates humans. surprise!
And it's not just using animals for food, oh no, animals are denied their freedom, kept in cages or aquariums in zoos and "underwater worlds", and circus animals are abused when they make a mistake in their performance or if they refuse to behave. Like what? These animals are not meant to balance on a tightrope, or ride a unicycle, or jump through hoops. And they certainly are not put in this world for humans to ogle at whilst being in trapped in a tiny cage or enclosure. That is just unnatural. And humans don't have the fucking right to make them do things they are not made to do. Who died and made humans the new God who decides what's right and what's wrong, what's okay and what's not?
Okay that's one part of shit I needed to get out. Here's another.
Human behaviour. Since March this year, I've been really trying to understand the world and trying to crack the secret to getting on with life hurt-free and just basically get through life being a boss ass bitch. And here's what I've found out. Every single human in this world is selfish. I'm selfish, you're selfish. Just basically everyone is selfish. You may not show it as prominently as other people, but you can't run from the truth. we are all selfish in nature. I really do believe that in this generation and in this world, you have to put yourself first, always put yourself first. Like in the working world, it's vicious. People stomp on your heads clambering for that "CEO" position. not literally of course, but figuratively. Everyone wants to be on top, everyone wants to succeed, everyone wants to be rich and famous. Stop and think about this sentence for a minute. Only one or a special few can be these things. If everyone could be it, then nobody would want it, now would they? The exclusivity of these titles, shows that you have to fight to get in. And I, speaking from experience, can vouch that there are countless people who play dirty to get these titles. It's basically survival of the fittest. So I say, be selfish. Do what is good for you, if you think people are slowing you down, cut them off. But please for the love of God, never fight dirty to get where you want to go because I guarantee you, it's going to come back and bite you in the ass one day.
I actually have a lot more shit to say but my fingers are exhausted so I will continue this rant/whatever this is another time.
